Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) support for Media Composer, Pro Tools, Sibelius, EUCON and ISIS

Apple has recently released OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) as part of a free upgrade available to all Mac OS X users. Avid has not completed qualification of the new OS X 10.11 for all products and strongly recommends customers do NOT upgrade to this OS version until qualification is complete. There are open bugs and known issues with current shipping versions of some of our products that will need to be addressed prior to qualification. Please find the qualification status for each of these products below.

Media Composer
- Support for OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) was added with Media Composer 8.5 (released January 29, 2016).
- Apple recently released OS X 10.11.6 (El Capitan) which has not been qualified for use with Media Composer 8.6.x at this time. Once approved, this article will be updated.
- Note: If you upgrade to Mac OS X 10.11 thru Mac OS X 10.11.3, you must uninstall Media Composer. Reinstall Media Composer after you perform the OS upgrade. If you use Avid Artist DNxIO, you must also uninstall the Desktop Video software and reinstall it after the OS upgrade.

Pro Tools
- Support for OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) was added with Pro Tools 12.3. OS X 10.11.0 - 10.11.3 supported.
- Mac OS X 10.11.4, 10.11.5 & 10.11.6 are not qualified and not recommended for use with Pro Tools software due to the following known issues:
- CPU performance peaks randomly on lower buffer sizes (AAE error -6101) with non-HD devices
- CPU performance degradation with lower buffer sizes (AAE error -9171) with HDX
- Pro Tools 12.5 Installer takes several minutes to start up
Avid Audio Interface Drivers
- Pro Tools | HDX and Pro Tools | HD Native cards are supported with Pro Tools 12.3 (or later), OS X 10.11 and HD Driver 12.3 (or later). Please read HD Driver 12.3 Notes.
- Supported non-HD audio devices with OS X 10.11 (El Capitan):
- The following audio interfaces will not be supported on OS X 10.11 (El Capitan). The last supported operating system is OS X 10.10 (Yosemite).
Sibelius
EUCON
- Support for OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) was added with EuControl 3.3.2 and S6 v2.1.
ISIS
- Support for OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) was added with ISIS 4.7.7.
- Support for OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) was added with Avid NEXIS | PRO v5.0.1 (formerly ISIS | 1000)
- Support for OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) was added Avid NEXIS v6
